Aleksandr Vlasov to lead Astana – Premier Tech at Giro d’Italia

The young Russian rider’s main goal of the season will be leading the Kazakh-Canadian squad at the first Grand Tour of the new season, the Corsa Rosa. Before heading to the Giro Aleksandr will start his season at Tour de la Provence and Algarve before heading to Paris-Nice, which will be his main preparation race for his season highlight, the Giro d’Italia.

Like last year, I will start my 2021 season with Tour de la Provence followed by Volta ao Algarve and Paris-Nice. After those races I will start my preparations with an altitude camp, as well as my participation at the Tour of the Alps ahead of my main goal of the season, the Giro d’Italia. I already got a taste of the Grand Tours at last year’s Giro, which was not the Grand Tour start I was hoping for, and then the Vuelta. I am really motivated to return to Italy and to give my best. Beside the Giro d’Italia, the Olympic Games are an event to focus on.
